Pole Dance Teachers
Natasha (founder of BodyMind Studios and Pole Dancing in South Africa)
Hi, my name is Natasha Williams. I founded BodyMind Studios in September 2004. As I was the first person in South Africa to teach pole dancing, I encountered a lot of negativity and stereotyping in the beginning. I took me a few years to gain acceptance that pole dancing is a uniquely empowering sport, second to none. I started out as an exotic dancer, which was a great way for me to travel around the world. What I also discovered, though, was that the dancing gave me self-confidence, grace and toned my body, like no other exercise could do. After dancing for 16 years, I started giving workshops to women who really wanted to learn how to be sexy and graceful, without the negative connotation. However, a one-day workshop can never teach you how to be comfortable in your body, it takes time and practice. Thus, my Sensual Fitness classes, and within a year, Pole Dancing. The demand for classes is growing daily, and ordinary women from all walks of life are getting the benefits of the classes.
